What is The Community Foundation of Oakville?
A community foundation is a registered charity designated to make it easy, beneficial and inexpensive for people and corporations to establish perpetual endowments in their name.
These endowments may be structured to support your favourite charities, fields of interest (e.g. education, the environment), scholarships, memorials or, current needs as determined by The Community Foundation of Oakville's (The CFO's) Grants Committee.
People who have chosen to establish endowments with The CFO see this as a means to create a family legacy of philanthropy, to become more strategic in their charitable undertakings and to ensure long-term support for the charities and causes important to them.
Instead of your annual support to charitable organizations, a gift of capital to The CFO provides income "in perpetuity" to your charities of choice in Oakville and beyond. It is "a one-time gift that gives forever".
