Oakville Community Foundation … All for community.
We are a locally run charitable foundation whose purpose, promise and passion since 1994 has been Community Vitality. Over the past 14 years we have connected donors to community needs and opportunities and helped them invest in building strong and resilient places to live, learn, work and play.
Oakville Community Foundation:
- has provided over $12 Million in grants for a wide range of community needs
- has supported over 145 local charities
- has approximately 100 family and organization funds
- has over $33 Million in endowed and other philanthropic funds
- built Oakville’s Heritage Trails, in partnership with the Town of Oakville
- has designated endowment funds which support youth, the environment, heritage and literacy

What is a Community Foundation?
A community foundation is a registered charity designated to make it easy, beneficial and inexpensive for people and corporations to establish perpetual endowments in their name.
These endowments may be structured to support your favourite charities, fields of interest (e.g. education, the environment), scholarships, memorials or, current needs as determined by the Oakville Community Foundation (OCF's) Grants Committee.
People who have chosen to establish endowments with the OCF see this as a means to create a family legacy of philanthropy, to become more strategic in their charitable undertakings and to ensure long-term support for the charities and causes important to them.
Instead of your annual support to charitable organizations, a gift of capital to the OCF provides income "in perpetuity" to your charities of choice in Oakville and beyond. It is "a one-time gift that gives forever".
